In 1972, Dr K.H. Sancheti started Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, with a view to have one of its kind hospital specifically dedicated to Superspeciality Orthopaedic Surgery. Due to that sincere investment and great foresight the institute today, has acquired an empire size, of which we all are so proud.
On 14th January 2009, when the chairmanship was bestowed upon me, though I was aware that this would eventually happen, I had not expected that this change would occur so soon. Being the Chairman of the Institute is a great responsibility as well as great pride. SIOR has already established its credentials as a premier joint replacement centre & Specialized Trauma Centre nationally as well as internationally. It is indeed a herculean task for me to maintain and improve upon existing levels of excellence set by Dr K H Sancheti. However I consider myself fortunate to have been entrusted with this task and will leave no stone unturned to make sure we continue our strong tradition of excellent performance and continuous improvement.
In the near future SIOR plans to start Satellite Out Patient Departments and franchises in other cities of India so that we are able to cater to needs of more number of patients. I also wish that people from all over the world should be able to approach us and avail of our services through Health Tourism facilities.
With a team like ours I feel confident of our success. And in future too with teamwork and sincere efforts I think nothing will be impossible for us to achieve. At this juncture I wish to convey my heartfelt gratitude to the entire SIOR family of doctors, staff and personnel for their contributions in making SIOR what it is today and ask to pledge their support in the future as well.
Henceforth, I will concentrate my efforts to improve patient care and other services to patients. On behalf of all the doctors and staff, I assure you that we will always abide by the standard of ethics and good medical practices laid down by our founder Dr K H Sancheti. This would forever remain my primary quest that we serve all patients with equal zeal and not forget the humane approach taught to us by our founder Dr K H Sancheti.
