Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy provides 100% pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber.  This “hyperbaric “ (or high pressure) dose of oxygen offers distinct therapeutic benefits and can be used to treat a variety of illness.  It may be the primary treatment for some disorders, but it is often combined with antibiotics and surgery.
How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work?
Once inside the comfortable hyperbaric oxygen chamber you will begin to breathe 100% oxygen.  The chamber is then pressurized as described by your doctor.  This results in an increase in oxygen delivered to body tissues by your blood resulting in advanced wound healing, increased oxygen delivery to injured tissue, improved infection control, greater blood vessel formation, preservation of damaged tissues and elimination and reduced effects of toxic substances.

How many sessions does one require of such a therapy?
Treatments are individualized to each patient.  Some emergency cases require only one or two sessions.  Wound healing cases may require 20 to 30 sessions for maximum benefit.  Our doctor specially trained in hyperbaric therapy will describe to you your treatment course in detail before therapy begins.
Are there any side effects to such a therapy?
There are no side effects to such a therapy. However, you may experience a little light headedness for which soon passes away. There have been reports of patients having a crackling sensation in ears between treatments. This too is only temporary.
You will be relaxed and comfortable during therapy!
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy occurs while you lie comfortably and restfully in the chamber. You can listen to music or watch your favourite show on TV.
