The
Alumni Association of Sancheti Institute has organized
the 4th Fracture Fixation Course (Basic & Advanced)
on June 1, 2 & 3,
2007 at the Symbiosis Vishwabhuvan.
The
last 3 courses had tremendous response. This time round
the advanced course is also introduced in curriculum.
The basic course will have young residents and surgeons
learning the basic modalities of treating fractures while
the advanced course will feature practicing surgeons
learning and updating themselves in the higher end of
fracture fixation. It is indeed an unique academic event.
The course chairman is the world renowned
orthopaedic surgeon Prof U. Holz from Germany. During the
inauguration of the event Prof Holz was presented the AASI
Life Time Achievement award by Dr K H Sancheti.
Prof Holz has a very illustrious career and
is a master of surgery in all the areas of orthopaedics.
He has been a guiding angel for many of the reputed surgeons
from India who have trained under him at Katherinen Hospital,
Stuttgart, Germany. It is matter of great pride and benefit
that today he is in Pune and is the chairman of the course.
This will give a tremendous opportunity to the young surgeons
to absorb maximum knowledge from Prof Holz in India itself.
The 4th Fracture Fixation Course is an academic
feast which will serve lectures by the experts and hands
on workshop using bone models to practice the taught techniques.
The combination of theory and practical training assists
the surgeon in grasping the newer surgical techniques in
totality.
The
best in the field of fracture fixation, by knowledge
and experience, trained in AO techniques will impart
knowledge to the attending delegates.
