Obesity & Spine Surgery post Cardiac bypass
We share the experience of Mr Sapar with a complaint of low back pain, difficulty to stand & walk, having severe leg radiation.
Mr Sapar Ashok is a k/c/o (known case of) bypass surgery, HT (Hypertension), DM (Diabetes Mellitus) & overweight obesity (around 110 kg wt.)
He was seen by many physios, alternate treatments done by many physicians but were not better.
He had large disc with Lumbar Stenosis leading to incapacitating back and leg pain
He was sent for medical assessment, his medication was optimised cardiac and anaesthesia. Fitness was the ultimate option was remaining.
We performed Lumbar Spine Fusion (TLIF) surgery in Aug 2016.
Now it is one & half year of time, Mr. Ashok is enjoying his life and doing all the activities of daily living.
Dr. Shailesh Hadgaonkar feels that we should always consider spine surgery as last resort. But with advancement in technology, the results are significantly better now.
